Designing it right before building it

I trained as an architect in Baghdad, taught architectural engineering, worked on housing and interior projects, and then moved to Ontario. I’m now an MBA student at North Dakota State University in the USA, with advanced construction management coursework.

Today I run Alayan Design-Build Inc, an architectural design firm, manage renovation projects in the Burlington area, and am an Intern Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects. My master’s research cut modelled building emissions by 86%, which earned a thank-you letter from Iraq’s Ministry of Environment. I still review journal papers in building engineering.
